Question is if we sign him where does that leave us with regards to the glut of central midfielders we have. we must replace caicedo if he goes, thought out of the two mac would be the one we replaced internally. already signed one pretty much, bring in frattesi and we’ll still need a caicedo replacement if he goes as we don’t have another ball winner, bring in three new CMs and suddenly it’s not looking good for moder and alzate
It's hardly looking good for both Moder and Alzate anyway, neither have played for the Albion for a very long time now.

Would surely be the highest profile signing we’ve ever made (Vicente was 5+ years beyond his peak and Bridge was only a loan).

I guess Lallana and Welbeck an arguement but the latter was coming from Watford. Lallana past his best and injury prone on a free.

This case is a 23 year old.

RDZ has not yet been given the opportunity to fully run the rule over these two.

For me, Alzate looks to be a typical RDZ player. But we shall see in the summer.

Mentioned by Naylor as a target in the athletic today along with Milner, Dahoud and Matviyenko, whether thats speculation on his part or not is well up for speculation.
If I was involved in the infrastructure at Sassuolo, I would absolutely want Frattesi out of the Country if he had to go; not playing against me for a Napoli or Lazio. There is not a lot of money in Italian football right now, I’d be confident almost any EPL club could match what 90% of Italian clubs would pay.

It seems like we have 20 midfielders lined up to replace MacAllister, but none to replace Caicedo. That's because he's irreplaceable

Juventus just docked 10 points (again, but less than the 15 before) - puts them down to 8th and out of the Champions League spots. Might make a difference?

Naylor said he is our target so likely Brighton is the club Romano is alluding to...

Jimmy Case was a huge signing at the time, softened the blow of losing one of the best defensive/midfield players in the world.
