Here are three pieces of expert knowledge imparted by DP:-

1. Coventry City were making their first visit to the Amex,
2. They would like to get us back to Highfield Road for a replay
3. Tim Krul will welcome the game time because our first choice goalkeeper from New Zealand is difficult to shift.

Top punditry !

I've a lot of time for him. He also played a big but largely unsung part in fighting racism in English football in the 80s. I only discovered recently that he's Jewish and gave himself a more Anglicised surname as he thought his real name might have held him back.

His tactical knowledge is far greater than most on here. Age may have had an effect upon his details, but a sharp football brain nonetheless.

Doesn't Pleat pronounce all the players names slightly strangely. Sure it was him that used to annoy me on 5 live

Pleat used to irritate me massively with some of the inane crap he'd come out with as a pundit. Nowadays I find him less annoying. Probably because he's not on TV all the time, but also because he's actually a lot more knowledgeable than many of the total dicks we now have to suffer.

Pleat or Owen? Pleat or Savage? Pleat or Townsend? Pleat or Hoddle.......etc. Makes you think.

Anyway, that "kerb crawling wanker" song is still funny.

I recall he got pulled up live on tv for not pronouncing Michael Duberry correctly.
The ITV producers voice went out live on air saying “David. We’re getting complaints that you’re saying it wrong. It’s not Doo-Barr-Ree, it’s pronounced Doober-y”

Gus Poyet hates Pleat and blames him for ending his Spurs career.

Which will probably boost his standing among many on here.
