Quality striker at Championship level IMO.

Anyone else rate him?

Would be a decent addition, but his wages are a big problem.

One suspects wages may be a problem.................. at least that would appear to be the popular view

It does appear so Severnside, though I disagree with this consensus. You?

He scored 35 in 93 for PNE in Championship and managed to con Pompey into spending £6m and £40k a week wages. He has done f*** all since leaving PNE and when we played Pompey last season Elphick and El-Abd had him in their pockets.. I dont think he is much better than Barnes IMO.. Crazy as that may sound!

and surely wages wouldn't be that much of a problem? i'd imagine portsmouth have a really strict wage cap in place......it's not like they've had recent financial problems as a direct result of ridiculous player wages, and it's not like they're run by complete morons is it?

I would think that our system and style of play would suit him down to the ground but he is probably looking for wages comparable to what Portsmouth paid him or alternatively to go back up north. Teams like West Ham, Leicester and Birmingham may be interested.
