Just over £108,000,000 has been spent buying Mr Luiz' talents.

He’s a top player 99% of the time, the problem is the other 1%
For some reason he switches off at least once per match, the real top players don’t do that.

Average ones don't either.

He is a liability unless he is given loads of time and space. The ******* offspring of Sideshow Bob and a show pony.

He's a clown, but lets not kid outselves, Arsenal are weaker without him. They now have a real problem at center back, which makes me think Burn/Dunk could CLEAN UP with some good set-pieces.

Arsenal supporting fella on Football Weekly was lamenting their centre back issues, over the last 10 years.

He said of Luiz, which was then backed up by the panel, words to the effect of:-

'he just doesn't like defending.
All he wants to do is be in the right position to start an attack.
He doesn't get the same joy from a clean sheet as a striker gets from a goal'.

Fella said much the same about all the other Arsenal defenders.

Through this I couldn't help thinking of Duffy.
Imagine he turned up at Arsenal.

They'd be livid about buying such an 'agricultural' defender.
20 minutes into the first game, after he's singleheadedly repelled 4 dead balls, come close to scoring and kicked Kane up in the air he'd be a folk hero.

Whereas to us he's just one in a very very long line of decent centre backs.

I remember David Platt being the player with the highest aggregate expenditure for a player a long time ago. I bet that record has gone a bit stratospheric.

Platt £29.88 million
Robbie Keane £75 million

A player whose style is, l think, totally unuiited to Premier League football. He has always done well for his country, and would have been better off plying his trade in his native South America, or perhaps in La Liga, where the game is less physical, and we would have more time on the ball.
