I don't know how much it costs, but judging by that I guess it is so much that they know that most people will take one look and click straight out.
Instead you'll get some person pestering you on the phone every evening, trying to justify the cost by selling you the features and benefits, and offering Introductory Discounts etc, until you either tell them to f*** off or cave in and sign up just to get shot of them. Just like those double glazing companies.

Me, the wife and our two kids are all peak-time members and it costs £151 per month. It is a lot but we go there at least 4 times a week and it beats the hell out of going to the sports centre or the Aquarena. In a strange sort of way the fact that it is so expensive has motivated me to go at times when I've thought telly and beer to be a better option.

Bry - thats what I thought which is why I didn't want to register!
Spiros - my kids are 18, 16 and 14, so I guess the 18 and 16 will be classed as adults, so I reckon well over £200 per month...but the Aquarena is sooo bad and like you say it would make us have to go just to get value for money!!

I'd make the 18 and 16 year old pay for their own membership (or at least earn it with jobs around the house) but then my parenting style has been described as Victorian on more than one occasion

Me and the Mrs were members, but at £101 per month, we cancelled it and started doing 'real' excercise that doesnt cost money.
There is a joining fee too, usually about £100.
I personally enjoyed the two years we were members, but in all honesty its not worth the money.
