I give it an hour before they're demanding the last three league titles are stripped from Man City and awarded to them (even though they didn't finish second on all three occasions).

Funny how they're digging out all the decisions Coote has been involved in that went against Liverpool.

Bet none of them have studied the match reports to find all the moments when his involvement went in their favour.

This is all ridiculous anyway (notwithstanding the stupidity of somebody allowing themselves to be filmed in that position): every single referee out there will have opinions on clubs and managers. They'll all chat away, guaranteed, at their ref seminars: which coach is a moaner, which one is a snide, which players dive a lot. Coote is entitled to an opinion like anybody else and if his perception was that Klopp was arrogant, I have no issue with that whatesoever. He probably thinks Pep is a whiney bastard too, and Jason Tindall is an attention seeking pain in the arse, just like we all do. His only mistake appears to have been verbalising that in front of an untested audience.

A pal of mine is a local ref and was recently featured in the relatively successful youtube channel A Bunch of Amateurs where he ends up sending one of the managers off. From what he tells me it was very cleverly edited so not to make the manager look a complete dick as he'd been calling him every name under the sun for most of the game.

A mutual friend of both of ours (involved at Jarvis Brook) all confirmed said manager is a complete dickhead so I've no reason to disbelieve his side of the story.
I've reffed and my son is now a ref. There are some right dick heads out there in football. Sadly many in youth football. The bunch of amateurs and Dorking fc videos don't help

Sorry but didn't Coote do Liverpool a favour on Saturday by not giving a foul against Salah? This was discussed on today's Ref Watch and in fact they all got lucky that Nunes scored.
I think the point about that incident from what I have read is that he didn't play an advantage he actually indicated no foul.

To be honest talking to a lot of people I know who are referees there are certain players they dislike, or annoy them, its just human reaction.
There is a great podcast out there with former ref Kevin Lynch. Here he is admitting to not giving fouls against Ian Wright because he was being awkward to referee. Obviously the difference is he's long retired now, but you can guarantee every referee has turned a blind eye to something or given something they shouldn't have done because a player has been a bit of a dick at some point.

There were already some linking Liverpool title failures on the Twitter thread. :ROFLMAO:

Those shouting 'Corruption!' seem to be overlooking Coote' s reason for giving that view of Klopp. 'He called me a liar.' doesn't seem to be the complaint of a corrupt official. It's perfectly possible to dislike someone and yet to maintain neutrality. Ask any school teacher.

Potential cancel culture ruining a guy’s career if far more offensive that the words uttered…if someone is really looking for someone to be offended

He is absolutely off his rocket. Something really odd about that video though. I won’t share all my thoughts here for obvious reasons.

However that video sums up the state of refing at the top level.

Seriously though , the issue here isn't what he thinks, it's that he has said it out loud. Knows he shouldn't and could have been open to bribery etc.

There is also the issue of when this was filmed and why it's out now.

It's right to be investigated
