Latest reports are he’s been moved to intensive care, breathing on a tube. He was suffering organ failure when he was admitted to hospital earlier this week, in need of a liver transplant and his condition is deteriorating, some reports quoting a hospital source saying a transplant would now be futile. His family are with him, it really doesn’t sound good.

A great shame he is so ill. He may not be "trendy" now, but he was huge in his day and some of his hits were really quite catchy and are still listenable to today. I also remember watching the Partridge Family as a kid.

Didn't he pack it in when a fan was crushed to death at one of his concerts ?
All the girls at my school were constantly swooning over him which made some of the boys get similar haircuts etc. to stand some chance with them.
Always sad when anyone dies, he is or was a chronic alcoholic I believe.
