Didn't cook much of their food although when they went local it was worthwhile noting whatever they had done, especially if it had black pudding in it!

Essentially it was Mortimer & Whitehouse before M&W.

Yes they were cooks but most of all they were bikers who loved bikes and biking roads and then cooked at bit. Not a bad life.

I'm 64 in September and looking at the CBR must get out and about on it far more this summer.

RIP Dave.

Very sad.

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat

I don't like many cookery programmes but these two (along with Si King were a joy to watch.
Their recipes were simple to use as well.

I'm 64 in 3 weeks ...
News like this pokes the reality button. Yet my old dad is 97 this year. I guess life is one big lottery.

RIP Dave Myers - bikers brigade

Enjoyed their programmes and they both seemed lovely blokes, not only on the TV but everything else I've heard/read about them. RIP Dave

Very sad news. Dave seemed like a lovely, jovial chap, as does Si.

Loved their shows and their genuine friendship came across on screen. They also had a real enthusiasm for not only their cooking but also the areas they visited and telling the local story too.

Dave bears more than a passing resemblance to my best mate too, so much so that Si King even commented on it when he saw them at a live show a few years ago.

RIP Dave.

I really enjoyed watching their obvious friendship. I’m not a foody at all, but liked their shows.

Fortunately I have not lost a close friend yet but having a bit of a family of wrong ‘uns, my friends are my family. I’ve lost family members and I have coped as we were not a particularly close family.

But thinking about losing friends makes me feel very sad.

And no age at all.

RIP

Big fan of The Hairy Bikers. Only used one of their recipes last night. Both seemed really genuine nice guys. RIP Dave Myers.

One of a pair of nice, gentle humans who put smiles on faces. It was wonderful to witness companionship like that. One for upstairs. RIP
