I would hazard a guess that Kitson dislikes us almost as much as we do him.

I am genuinely interested in who people on here want us to realistically sign? Shows where we are now I guess when people can write of Dave kitson as useless.

I was thinking this - both him and Stead are tall with pretty good scoring records at this level and as either would be a free/loan would it really be that much of a risk?

Kitson must be on 15-20k a week, so not sure what Gus was on about with all this wage budget if it's true we are after him. Maybe i'm wrong, but that seems a similar sort of wage i'd expect the likes of Ebanks-Blake, Simon Cox, Jamie Mackie to be on.

Rumours seem to be that Brett Pitman is looking for a move from Bristol City, now that's a player i'd love to see here. Seemingly not happy at his lack of opportunities at Ashton Gate.
Yes please.

If it's a loan then Pompey would be paying some of his wages.

Top English scorer in the Prem in 2008, with the right service he definitely knows where the back of the net is. Upfront with CMS would make a fantastic partnership and compliment each other in my opinion.

The man is useless and barely scores a goal every 4 games at best, christ he hasn't done anything for 4/5 years and i can assure you he ain't goner suddenly score 20 goals a season, more like 6 at his current rate.

Not rated at pompey and seems like he's going through the motions while picking up a lovely weekly wage, the man has no passion left so we really need to avoid tripe like this.Ashly barnes this season has scored as many as kitson has in 46 championship games for pompus.

True, but likewise Ebanks-Blake, Cox, Mackie and so on would all be on loans as aren't featuring for their sides very often. Presumably in fact they'd pay more, as paying £5k-10k a week for them is different to cashless Pompey paying 5k-10k a week for Kitson without the possibility of even picking him.

I'm still going to ask for Brett Pitman, oozes class.

Good signing if he is coming, a partner for CMS who can actually head the ball

As I said in my previous post 'with the correct service' he will score goals. Noone, Buckley and Kaz will provide the service. Also CMS would thrive off his knock downs/head ons etc.

Look at his scoring rate when he has stayed at clubs for a decent amount of time. Averages better than 1 in 3 at Reading and that was playing at Champ and Prem level. A quality player.

That was 4 years ago though. As I said earlier, 19 goals in his last 96 games is shit by any strikers standards, (apart from BDB). Maybe he could make a good foil for CMS but I'm not convinced.
As to the people asking who am I expecting us to sign, I don't know, but if it was between Kitson and Stead, I'd vote for Stead all day long!

Who do people on here realistically expect us to be going after Rooney, Adebayor even Simon Cox would probably be out of our range at the moment, perhaps not with a purchase in the summer but as a loan now almost certainly.

Kitson would fit the bill admirably tall strong win the ball in the air and knock down to CMS and upset and unsettle opponents defenders.

So you would rather have a player with a far inferior scoring record throughout his career........

Strange some people!
