PDC for me...simply because there was a guy in the crowd with a frizzy hair do and some wit behind him had written on his bit of card....'Dart Garfunkel ---->'

Darts on SKY or any other pay channel can never be considered the real deal, regardless of the calibre of players participating. The Beeb is the home of darts with something like 5m tuning in for the latter games. I wonder what the PDC viewing figures were.
:bigwave:

The BBC coverage of the Darts was great last week wasnt it ? 1 hour of live darts a night  I'm sure a lot more people watched the PDC darts on Sky than the amount who bothered watching the darts by pressing the red button on the BBC......? Thornton Vs Adams the other night 4-4 in sets and into the final set, good darts and great match and they cut it off. Sky showed every dart in every match that was thrown and all live ..... BBC showed an hour, most of what happened a few hours before hand and was all basically highlights.

Poor old Ted Hankey the other day, got a boo from the crowd, lost the plot and his game fell to pieces ..... Adrain Lewis, Peter Manley in the PDC get loads of abuse from the crowds and do they crack ? No because they are proper darts players.

Tonight was the equivalent of the FA Trophy as opposed to the FA Cup at Ally Pally.

Interesting that both players averaged more in the F.A Trophy final than the F.A Cup!

BDO is where it's at, despite losing so many players to the greed league on Sky they still manage to produce more high quality players and characters.

Think you'll find John Part won with a slightly better average than Webster. :bigwave:

Also if you do a job you want to get paid the most that you can realistically expect

This link shows how much prize money is on offer to the BDO compared to PDC ....

PDC has 8 times the amount of money available to prize winners....

Have been surprised by the quality in the BDO this year, and it was a good final.
But wth sky backing the PDC will reign cash supreme, and the best players will always switch for the money.

The BDO averages was like watching League Two football. PDC averages ARE far greater. I wouldn't mind Barry Hearn, putting a contract infront of Mark Webster face and watching him snap it up in a shot. The coverage on BBC was dire, at least Sky will show the schedule live, instead of pressing your red button.
