First time I've watched darts, mainly due to there being nothing else on and me being f***ing lazy. Actually found it quite good entertainment. Wanted the Aussie to win. Unlike most antipodeans he seemed like a decent bloke. And the only thing more annoying than a winning Aussie is a winning Welshman.

Gutted that Preston from the Ordinary Boys won. Apart from the Outback ponytail the Aussie seems like a top bloke. Glad that throwback Pecker got knocked out, someone should tell him that his peroxide haircut, earrings and beergut went out of fashion in 1981.

I hate to say it but as finals go, this one pissed all over the PDC final.

Darts on SKY or any other pay channel can never be considered the real deal, regardless of the calibre of players participating. The Beeb is the home of darts with something like 5m tuning in for the latter games. I wonder what the PDC viewing figures were.

PDC Better? Pah. This is proper darts. All the history and traditon is at the lakeside.

Great final and a worthy winner.
