Really looking forward to the final. Semis were one sided but the speed of throwing, scoring and finishing from both players tonight has it as a potential classic.

He has a point though. If these were dry events, that place would be completely deserted.
As a non-drinker myself, I suspect if you took away the alcohol element most sports in this country would be much more poorly attended

I saw Littler last year in Bahrain and the event may as well have been dry. Only beer was Carling or some other crap. 4 vodka's was £50! Alcohol was served outside of the event and had a minimum half hour queue so you missed most games if you bothered going out there! I doubt I will bother this year.

This comes up every year. It’s the equivalent of saying “wouldn’t mosques get livened up by a free bar?”.
Mmmnah, not really. Nobody goes to a mosque for a sesh and to get plastered. Whereas the darts... it's all part of the craic. And it DOES look great fun. I'd be joining in wholeheartedly, even though the sport itself leaves me cold. Terrific atmosphere, beer flowing, there with your mates, brilliant.

I'd barely watch an arrow getting chucked though tbh, unless I had a wager on.

Can't drink watching live football, but I don't find that an issue at all. Same with snooker.

Darts and copious beer are intrinsically linked as a spectacle, and it looks like a brilliant night out. Would love to give it a go some time. I just wonder what the crowds would be like if they imposed snooker-style "abstinence" in the auditorium.

Apart from the opening night which occurred the day of the Palace game, I've watched a fair old bit of this world championship and enjoyed it throughout. The quality in darts amongst all the players now compared to even a few years ago is plain to see. A dream final between the best 2 players, could be a classic, can't call it and certainly wouldn't want to bet on it.

Are they actually going to play any darts?

For those without sky, it's on Talksport. Had a listen and really worked

To be honest, there's not much to see anyway. Can you imagine a 'goal of the month' equivalent? 'That double was a worldie.'
