Genuinely the nicest stadium I've been to for a few years. Absolutely wonderful ground, just completely unneccessary and unaccessible. If you don't drive, you can't get there. Simple. No bus routes from the town to the match, but a 1 an hour shuttle from the town centre. It's out of the way, and they charge you to park a the stadium (and you have no choice, it's surrounded by fields and nothing else).
It's a shame, because Darlington aren't a bad little club. But in that stadium, they're massively handicapped. It's ironic, in a way. They're handicapped by a stadium too big, and we have one too small!
it's a RIDICULOUS stadium........feethams was a nice little ground right in the town centre, unfortunately for the club they briefly had a (crooked) ego maniac in charge who, i believe, genuinely thought that darlington could be the biggest club in the north east
what a SHAME
probably the biggest white elephant english football has ever seen
Daft northern gits, they were never going to fill that. Struggled to get folk through the turnstiles at Feethams. Remember Oatway getting sent off there for biting someone's face?
they were never, EVER going to get anywhere near filling it
darlington is a small place and they have 3 big clubs on their doorstep (well, 2 big clubs and middlesbrough).....plus quite a few fans of clubs like leeds
there seemed to be absolutely no logic behind the move.........absolutely incredible
