As an aside, the goalies in that league seem sh@t.

Not just the goalies, the refs as well. In one clip the ref looks about 58 and is struggling to jog in the centre circle as the ball is played to nearly the edge of the box. In another the ref and goalie seem to have EXACTLY the same kit on.

It all looks a bit "Withdean" TBH.

However, they keep putting in this caveat:

I think you’re right about it being the summer of it’s going to happen.

However, I think that TB is firmly in credit with USG fans having taken them from being a team that has been 2nd tier or lower for 50 years to one that is top of the league and scoring goals for fun. Also, the chances are that many of the players recruited over the last 3 seasons (including Vanzeir and Undav) were scouted via BHA’s existing European network.

I don't know this, but my guess is that Bloom isn't bothered about USG's title push, UCL or no UCL. If Dante (or Mitoma) could help Brighton in January, he'll be coming.

I wouldn't be so sure. Think of all the potential prize money if they qualify for Europe! No idea what the exact figure would be but we're surely talking tens of millions here, I'm not sure he'd jeopardise that. Doesn't make sense to sell for a 7-10 million profit now and miss out on 20 million or so if their season takes a turn for the worse due to selling one of their prize assets.

I agree that his purchase of USG is all part of Bloom’s long-term player sourcing plan for BHA and not just for the shits and giggles of owning another club. However, CL qualification would be worth something like £15m without even accounting for extra prize money when they get there. BHA would nees to finish 8 places higher to match that.

Belgium’s less stringent work permit requirements is one of the advantages, for sure. I also think that it serves the purpose as somewhere to develop talent in the same way that Major-League baseball teams have so-called farm teams in the minor leagues.

Yes there's financial reward for qualifying from the Champions League.

But Tony can't just take $19 million and bank it, any more than he can he can just bank the £100+ million a year for Brighton being in the PL.

If USG do qualify for the Champions League, they'll need more players, presumably the ones they have will get hefty bonuses, the ground will need the mother of all upgrades to host matches. I'm not sure just how far that money will go.

He'd probably take the league win offered, but I doubt he has taken his eyes of his main prize .... which happily is us.

I think the only thing preventing us from getting this Vanzeir in January is that he might not be the player GP is after.

I read an article which stated he had ambitions to own a foreign club to see how far he could take them. He spent a long time reseaching and looking into clubs and the chance to buy union came up. They are one of the most successful clubs in the history of Belgium football and the chance to take them back there was too good to turn down.

They can play Champions league football at the national stadium. That is where they played when doing up their ground. If not there then it can be played at Anderlects ground.
