Hundreds of Sheffield United football fans are staging a protest against the appointment of Danny Wilson as manager.

Chairman Kevin McCabe signed Mr Wilson on a three-year-contract. Mr Wilson managed and played for rival club, Sheffield Wednesday, in the 1990s.

The fans gathered outside Bramall Lane stadium around midday on Friday. There are thought to be around 400 protestors taking part.

Mr Wilson, 51, left his last post as manager at Swindon in March.

One fan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I hope McCabe is looking through his window so he can see that people aren't happy with the appointment.

"It's crazy. I can't understand it. When I heard I was gobsmacked."

Mr Wilson, a former Northern Ireland international, replaces Micky Adams who was sacked in the aftermath of the club's relegation to League One

Nightmare job for Wilson. A club with no money but huge expectations. He'll be sacked by Christmas with Utd sitting in about 8th I suspect. If he was given the whole season though I would expect him to get them into the play offs.

Hundreds of benefit scroungers, who should be at work, are staging a protest against the appointment of Danny Wilson as manager.

Chairman Kevin McCabe signed Mr Wilson on a three-year-contract. Completely irrelevantly, Mr Wilson managed and played for rival club, Sheffield Wednesday, in the 1990s.

The utter retards gathered outside Bramall Lane stadium around midday on Friday. There are thought to be around 400 complete morons taking part.

Mr Wilson, 51, left his last post as manager at Swindon in March.

One deluded muppet told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I hope McCabe is looking through his window so he can see that people aren't happy with the appointment.

"It's crazy. I can't understand it. When I heard I was gobsmacked."

Mr Wilson, a former Northern Ireland international, can only possibly be an improvement on the Blades-loving, but sadly hopeless, Micky Adams who was sacked in the aftermath of the club's relegation to League One

Small minded fans should suit their lowly position. Wilson has a good record at this level, although he can't do miricles.

mayby they should remember that Derek Dooley was a legend with Wednesday but spent many years working for United.

..with a trigger-happy chairman who sacked the previous manager after just three months. There are 400 fans who need a reality check.

The Blades fans at work today are none to impressed, the Wednesday fans on the other hand are enjoying every minute of it
