Am I too late to copyright the popular phrase or saying 'Danny Unwelbeck'? :moo:

Yes, I knew I was late to the party with unWelbeck, you copying me a week later really isn't a good look for you.

Best case scenario the operation solved some of his injury problems permanently and we'll see a fitter than ever Welbeck. More likely it will be as you'd expect when he was signed: we should just be happy when he is available because occasionally it might not be the case.

Well it would be good to have all three options available again,

1. Start with no strikers
2. Start with all our strikers
3. Start with our best 2 strikers playing wide

All of which have got us results

Had a brilliant game today, some really intelligent lay offs, hold up
Play and 2 goals of course.

Also as He’s now only missed a mere 6 PL games in 18 months due to minor injuries since Boxing Day 2021 - can the idea that he’s always injured/not reliable finally be put to bed. ?
No. He probably remains a tad fragile, and playing him 10 games in a row is a risk, but he was brilliant today. Dropped deep and laid the ball off well, and marauded forward with a fervent venom. He was up for it and smelled weakness.

Probably shouldn’t have played today then cos - including United - that was his 10th game in a row he’s played since his last brief absence.

It does seem more than 6 over the time mentioned, but since the back end of last season he’s been exceptional.

Wish he’d scored with the screamer after the goalie had cleared it to him in the first half. As you say a great performance

4 of which were 20 minutes or so off the bench, and none of which were for 90 minutes. It is best to ration his time and use for the good of him and the team. I like the guy, and he's a real plus for our squad, but we have to be sensible rather than label him uncrackable.

We signed Danny in 2020 aged 29. He had an operation at the end of the 20-21 season that ruled him out for the end of that season even though he had made 24 appearances and it solved a longstanding Hamstring problem that he had.

He appeared 27 times last season and has appeared 31 times this season already. He doesn't have a fitness problem, isn't constantly injured and is still only 32 years old and still in his prime, but don't let facts get in the way

And I'm not picking on you but it's just that this crap about him being 'frail' keeps getting repeated and eventually people believe it
