I don't see enough of Deeney but I thought he was something of a club legend there?? Perhaps his best days are indeed behind him but he would only be a squad player here, a useful option off the bench and an occasional start, I'd expect a few years younger than Muzza he'd give us everything that we got from Murray in the last couple of seasons and a bit more. Personal preference is still very much for Welbeck, his pace, trickery and undoubted higher calibre plus his versatility in offering an option out wide if we change system would tick all the boxes for me.

If we’re getting Deeney, why not just get Glenn back?

In fact let’s just take Glenn back. I’d sooner him then any of the other names mentioned. Anyday.

I think, if this happened, it would be because Troy wants to play in the PL even if he just plays a little, while Glenn wants to play more, even if its in the Championship.

Something to do with the 5 year age difference I imagine. Deeney realistically would be a decent step up from Glenn IMO.
