Available on a free transfer, could be a good squad player if he can get back to full fitness.
I don't think we need to sign 'squad' players (e.g. someone who is going to come in & sit straight on the bench), maybe with the exception of defensive cover. We have a fantastic base for a Championship squad & need to sign several individuals who will improve our first team. Signings other than that should be young talent for the development squad, some of whom will end up pushing for a first team place later in the season.
For instance, if we sign a star striker we will have the likes of Barnes or Hoskins on the bench depending who starts alongside them & to come into the first team when injuries/suspensions hit.
To challenge anywhere near the top of the table you need quality right through your squad. Any signing who is less talented than our current crop of players, with no real room for improvement, is a waste of space as far as I'm concerned.
