Not if the Mark McCammon return rumours price to be true

And back with us in 1-2 years to replace Zamora.
Any professional player with a ten odd year career should not need to ever work again.
Dan has invested the money he's made from football seriously well. He won't need to work again so a move like that seems good for him. He is genuinely a very nice bloke as well, despite what some on here might have you believe.
Surely he felt let down by the club though. He scored 20 goals the previous season to help get us promoted and the club offers him a crap deal.
He didn't want to leave and didn't want to move house either, so signing for that lot made sense.
Since leaving we've twice tried to buy him back, he never celebrates when he scores against us.
Fans aren't loyal to players though. If someone has a few bad games there's witch hunts on NSC about JFC/Stockdale/Spanish Dave/Ulloa/Greer and practically every manager.
No one gives a shit about James Tunnicliffe, Chris Holroyd, Mark McCammon and plenty of others. Remember those who were booing Ashley Barnes when his name was on the team sheet?
If fans want loyalty they need to show it themselves.
Hadn't heard that before, but if it comes from you I'm sure there is weight and substance behind it. Interesting stuff.
Is it really "overlooked" or simply irrelevant? Because his signing on fee was surely likely to be less than the £2.5m we paid to sign CMS.its just rumour, or at best half the story. if both parties want a move, a move happens. overlooked in the Murray saga was that substantial signing on fee was demanded, and was the stumbling block, not wages (yes more rumour but fits with the other matters like paying more to other players).
Well the average weekly wage in league 2 is 1.3k to 1.5k as reported in the BBC in 2013 (so it has probably gone up since then...http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/23923904)
That come to 67.6k to78k a year. Over 10 years that is 676k to 780k. Spread that over 40 years (taking you from 20 to 60) that is 16.9k to 19.5k a year. So, yes, you should be able to live for life off of a footballers average wage. Loads of people live off of less in their lives.
If you didn't want to work after retiring you would!
It's nonsense. For a start the 40% tax level will make a big dent in your calculations; earning 80k a year simply doesn't equate to having 40k for 2 years as you seem to suggest.
Very few players above League 1 are on PAYE most are self employed as a a company and that company hire the players services to the club. This means that they have greater tax advantages to reclaim expenses than if paying 40% tax.

talking out of your arse as usual. players pay PAYE, they would only go through a company for image rights or other secondary income. what you describe is thrid party ownership, which is outright banned in England even if it ever was used much. its as if the Tevez affair passed you by.
