This wouldn't surprise me but the fee would be eye watering.

I wonder what transfee fee BDB would command?
Now an established PL defender.
I would be disappointed if we weren't getting £15m - 20m for him but still a very decent mark up for a player we purchased for £4m.

The only ones they haven't been after are the ball boys according to the rumours.

Take it as a compliment that the 'richest club in the world' is after our entire team.

Only as a stop gap though, if their January signings keep them up I imagine virtually none of their squad will be any more than benchwarmers next season as they hoover up the best players in the world.

If they don’t stay up there will be some disappointed PL players in the Championship next season

How soon is now?

If they're ambitions match their wallet depth then every player they sign this month is a stop gap, and that goes for smug Eddie too.
The re-build is a 3 or 4 year job, and none of the existing playing staff will still be in place when they've spent a billion quid

I thought the BDB to Saudi FC rumour was sooo “earlier this week” before the Webster rumour emerged?
Nothing to see here. They’ll be moving onto craving after another member of our squad by tomorrow

Not enough.

Maybe to another club that would be a reasonable price, but Saudi FC will have to pay way more than a reasonable price for anyone they sign.

For a start, why would anyone want to go there and have a very real chance of relegation?

Just money grabbers at the end of their careers.
BDB is neither of those.

By the end of the transfer window we'll have all been linked with a move to Newcastle.

Another day in the BS day in the transfer window, but Dan Burn moving to Newcastle is a pretty good fit for all parties IF the timing’s right. He’s a much better player and defender than anyone gives him credit for, he’s from the NE, he’s 29 and a proper negotiation would see him bolster his pension pot and the Albion’s coffers. But of course, he’s another Chris Wood and therefore shit/championship/not good enough for the richest club in the world.

According to the papers this morning, Newcastle have been connected to 198 (now more I guess) since they took over. There's a great piece in the times (paywall) explaining why it is such chaos. Most enjoyable.

BDB is neither of those.

Indeed, and having played in the lower divisions for much of his career, BDB will be in no hurry to return.

Graham Potter returns to the training ground but we've sold every player Newcastle are interested in to them
