It’s been long enough guys, time to boo him.
Why?

He didn’t leave in a strop or because he saw £££ signs in his eyes - He did nothing wrong in leaving to join the Club he’s supported as a kid even though it was mid season because it was a dream of his - As he said after last week’s defeat:

“I’d love to finish my career here. I’ve moved home, my kids are back with their family and get to see them a lot, that was always the plan.”

Whatever he throws at our forwards on the pitch now is par for the course but as @Hugo Rune said above Burn showed respect to one of our top strikers when he was being carted off injured - I’m not going to boo the bloke for that.

Because it’s funny and part of the pantomime that is football and the supporters

Yes, to those that ‘deserve’ it

IMO Dan Burn doesn’t- he left us to go home and came across as a nice bloke in all the time he was at Brighton.

I’m just not one of these people who think players can’t be OTT jubilant when they score goals against their old club - especially a defender ffs. That’s not panto but genuine euphoria.

He plays like a twat sometimes now because that’s the Toon way but maybe that’s how he’s held his place in the team. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Would you also argue that we boo Gross if we ever play Bor Dortmund in Europe?

( Rhetorical question - I’m not looking for an argument btw- just expressing a personal POV )

The only thing that was unsavoury was that he was joining a sportswashing project of a murderous tyranny. We all knew it was really the state of Saudi, now confirmed.

Burn himself comes across as a decent bloke, I don’t think I could summon up the energy to boo the bloke.

I think anyone would be very much in the minority if they think Gross deserves to be booed.

As for Burn, looks like over 70% of posters on this thread feel as I do so I’ll leave it at that 😉

There’s a difference in booing for a laugh ( as I suspect some people interpret the question on this thread) and booing AT ex-players because we think they are genuine sh:ts.

It’s quite extraordinary how such a tiny, almost discreet moment can tell you so much.

That is what President Biden said, yes, people, he is still US President despite all the knuckleheads who have tried to deny it.

I would clean Pascal's boots after the match and hope for a draw.

I’m in the booing for a laugh camp, it’s all a bit of fun - I certainly will not be swearing at him or any ex players tbh.

To elaborate my thoughts are boo’ing someone is all a bit of fun, a bit of a pantomime.

Genuine question: when has booing achieved an outcome other than reinvigorating the target of the abuse?

There may be one or two isolated examples over the years following the Albion but mostly it has been counterproductive.

Genuine anger (as with Potter's Chelsea at the Amex) is different because we got behind everything our team did.

I am not interested in pantomime; a silent indifference to recalcitrant former players will do for me....

Oh... and Burn is not one of those recalcitrants.

Never forget poor Dan Harding's nightmare performance for Forest under extreme pressure from the crowd and getting absolutely roasted by William Buckley, running down the wing.
