Doesn't usually make the Press if the individuals themselves don't show an interest in speaking to the party enquiring - Rejections are normally done behind the scenes if that is the situation. Although I would imagine there are probably the odd exceptions to that situation

So you are agreeing there is no evidence he is interested in speaking to them ?

I think he can only be judged by signings and the progress of our teams. In that sense I can’t see how he has been anymore successful than previous DofF’s. He’s signed Lamptey, a big plus, but the striker thing appears a massive failure. Previous DofF signed Biss, our best signing. Someone else spotted White, our most profitable departure. Overall, in the last ten years, we’ve made some great signings and we have been moving forwards. So I can imagine that continuing whoever comes in next.

We didn't have a DoF until DA arrived.

Agreed how he should be judged, perhaps, but the time scale over which he should be judged is much longer than you're allowing him

People seem to be over seeing the huge progress the Womens team has made. And the quality of the U23s has improved 10x, with a huge amount on loan at top flight European clubs , EFL etc.

The same people who, whilst generally applauding it, are watching local football instead of the corporate dream

It's a constantly moving target and audience.

OK - but what does that have to do with anything?

I’m not criticising him. I just feel the DofF thing is a bit over egged. There’s others around who can do a similar job, I’m sure of that.

Looking at one of the Newcastle rooms they are not impressed. Funny that because I thought Newcastle fans knew alot about football, but as soon as they are taken over and look at the blood money they have started believing their own hype.

Newcastle get the begging bowl out to lowly Brighton, we may not have the past or fan base then them, but we are a better run club and will always be than them. Good luck to D A, if he takes the job, I'm sure we can attract another maybe like Ranick when he leaves United. What I will say is that with or without Ashworth I hope everything goes tits up for the Toon. I would not be any happier to see them wishing for Ashley back.

Well we're not contributing to the corporate coffers, but then we're customers and individually not important these days. So from a significance point of view . . . Nothing.

Are you ok ? You’re not making any sense

Me too . . . Sell the Allegro . . . . . Buy a MOntego, then take out a loan praying you can find an allegro nearly as good as your old turd.

I struggle to understand how anyone with an ounce of decency in their bodies would want to work for that regime. A decision to move there would, in my book, be a show of true colours and they won’t be blue and white.

Boo. BOO! An illegal club in an, er illegal league.

England traitors! Er.... something, something....

Should sign for Burnley - so pure they are almost all white!

Bring back the days when the likes of Peter Swales ruled the roost, and it was clear who was a knock-kneed chicken and who was a bow legged hen.

That said, I wish that the game had been reformed in the 50s, before the bribery scandals (Swan, etc). But that was when there was a socialist maximum wage. Was it socialist or capitalist, though? We will never know.

Funny old game

I think I can just about make out their begging bowl.

Reminds me of one Christmas Eve, banking in the 80's, when we crammed £1,000,000 in to one safe and gazed longingly at it. That was when it really was a rarity, not just a monthly paycheck for a footballer.

Only ? You’d need to know how all the teams are doing relative to their targets (U23s for example ?), how the ‘vision’ or strategy has developed under him and how well it has been driven through at all levels, how all the age groups are performing, how much talent we have in the pipeline, what’s changed in terms of scouting, player and tactical development, how close he got to signings that for reasons completely outside of his control didn’t come off….etc etc etc.

Tony obviously thinks he’s been doing OK, but that said that doesn’t mean we are desperate to keep him either if he wants to chase the dirty dollars - there will be a succession plan to continue the work, and maybe a fresh pair of eyes will be a good thing. He’s just a cog in the wheel at the end of the day. All this ‘I’ll drive him there myself’ bollocks from people who have no real idea what he does, or has achieved is pretty unnecessary IMO.
