Can't we begin loaning players in about 7 days anyway?

Huge disappointment. CH will have to be a great man manager to get Dale back firing on all cylinders!
Disagree - keeping Stephens (assuming he doesn't grump) would be massive. I'll take that, striker or no striker.Massive own goal if this is true, we do not have the strike force for anything better than the playoffs assuming none of our THREE forwards get injured. Surely we won't cock up on the striker front again??
Going to be very frustrating thinking "what if" all season
Really hope this is not true.
I'd rather a quality striker and lose Stephens tbh
What happens if Murray and Hemed are both out for a while?
If someone tells you a house is haunted, you look for ghosts whether you believe in them or not.

James Wilson joined us in November last year.
Chill
Nope.
I would only be slightly disappointed if true. Suspect we will see more of Murphy, Skalak and possibly Knockaert and Solly playing off Hemed and Murray.
But signing an upgraded Baldock would have given us the same problem. Two players for every position (except for 9 left backs of course )
Lol rules changed several months ago. Loan window CLOSES in 8 hours.

When does that re-open?
True but two Baldocks would be better than one...probably
I wonder what was going through Dale Stephens' head when he woke up this morning?
If he doesn't get his move I imagine his relationship with his agent might be a little awkward.
Murphy often played as a Central striker at Motherwell when he first broke into their side but it is not his best position, although he did score goals. I still think we are chasing a striker unless we have been told he is not for sale now. I am not giving up on the striker just yet
Strikers seem to be understandably the hardest targets to secure. However consider Burnelys position on Dale. They've made six bids and have clearly thrown the kitchen sink at trying to get him. It's been played out in public for weeks. If we don't want him to go and don't need to sell we won't. And perhaps we aren't going to.
Reading the Burnely forum some accuse the club of not making an effort to secure the necessary players.
They clearly have. We conduct our business far more quietly than most.
I suspect our striker targets may be in exactly the same position as Stephens is with us. Regardless of what is offered sometimes if the club says no the deal won't happen.
It's frustrating but not I think, a reflection on whether the club want another striker. Just perhaps the targets will not come.
The frustrating thing is it seems to be a perennial challenge for Brighton
