1 he controls the tempo of the game
2 he bridges play between defending and attacking
3 he plays more forward balls than gets credit for he might also give the ball away with those passes but not as often as you clearly think
4 his game management is fantastic
5 has a fabulous understanding with the 2 cbs and the more attacking players
6plays selflessly to the benefit of the team

I suspect there’s plenty more to his game but you get the point I hope

Well? Anyone care to comment on how our Dale did today?
Sure, I will. He wasn't very good. Not very good at all. Mind you, he's coming back from three games out so, in some, ways, my expectations were low.

Does this mean I suddenly think he's not a good player or doesn't deserve a place in the side? No, not really. There were plenty of players who didn't turn up today - for the first half at least.

I don't understand slagging off players in the squad - they are there for a reason and go through patches of good and bad form.

Do you only post on your own threads? There is massive thread on the subject just below yours.
My thread was started in September. Three months on, more people seem to be concluding that Mr Stephens is, actually, a bit of a liability.

To put things in context... A while back, just one Premier League club was said to be contemplating a big-money bid for Dale Stephens.

The club concerned? Burnley. 'Nuff said.
