Me too, Ive said for ages that he was the best man for the job. I believe he would keep us up and gives a us a real good push for the Prem next season.

The only thing is, will the board let him bring in his own players and have real control over the team? If not then he wont come to us.

In fact I doubt any decent manager would come to us without having control on the team.

Wishful thinking but if he was at all interested and I were TB, I'd offer him a Pardew-esque contract and give him total control over the football side of the club. However, in reality, I would be shocked if he fancied the job.

Would take him in a heartbeat though, who cares if we play "ugly" football - look at his track record. Plus I'd welcome a more direct style right now, imagine how quick we'd get into the opposition's box instead of all this faffing around with it. Right now I'd take Pulis in a heartbeat. There seem to be a lot of experts on here regarding his style of play which to me seems to be mostly lazily trotting out the first season at Stoke 'hoofball' line. When he bedded in he started playing with quick wingers, getting the ball out to them early, which is why he was successful at Palace, as they had the type of players he could transfer that style to quickly. With the pace available here, especially once Kaz is fit again, and if we can keep hold of Bent for a while, I don't see why he couldn't repeat the feat. He's a shrewd tactician and a powerful motivator, exactly what we need.

I would be shocked if Tony Pulis joined us at the moment. The only possible reason for him coming would be a guarantee of control over transfers and being sold a long term goal of Premier League football (whereas the clubs who want him in the Premier League would just be a case of keeping them up year after year). However, seeing as we're apparently not sacking Hyypia, it's all irrelevant anyway.

Pulis will not come to a league 1 bound club

To be fair, if we got Pulis in now, I think there's enough quality in the squad that he could turn it round. If you look at what he did for Palace last year, I'd say we have a better squad compared to the average in the Championship than they did in the Premier League. They're just being badly managed.

I don't think he'd come and every week we don't change the manager, it becomes a harder job for any new manager we get in. At the moment, it's hard to see where the next point is coming from, let alone how we're going to get to 52 points.

Well that is just typical short term knee-jerk reaction from a modern football fan. We need to nurture youth and play with a consistent philosophy in order to grow. Not throw it away every time we have a bad season! But sure throw away all the progress in the last 5 years just because we are not performing.

I didn't say I wanted Pulis and I'm a huge advocate of developing youth. I love our passing style but if it was a choice between the dire financial future if we were to be relegated and staying up, I'd take abandoning the style for the rest of the season. Stay up, strengthen in the summer, go again with the Brighton way. I have to laugh at being called knee-jerk, I was still backing Sami even after Derby

Well good! But I would not abandon it for even half a season. I just would not be able to let myself do it. I would feel dirty.

It would be a great shame, I remember having to defend Poyet's 'dull' football on here from some posters when it was clear that we were streets ahead of many teams in the division. All the youth levels of the club play the Brighton way and we've attracted something of a reputation for our style.

Looks good doesn't it...but he had the back up of a good No2. When he wouldn't come here due to 'Family reasons' Hyypia asked his friend Sammy Lee,who promptly joined Southampton...Sami does not seem to be able to operate on his own...great player,all round nice guy...but not managerial material.
