Get yourself up The Steyning Bostal or worse still Cobb Lane (Ardingly way).
The only 2 climbs in Sussex have had to get off on.
I can do Steyning now, but Cobb Lane is 3-0 up.
I won a hill climb on the bostal once. I was skinny then.

Don't know if its long enough to qualify, but May Road, near top of Elm Grove, is one of the steepest in Brighton.
Blimey well done.I won a hill climb on the bostal once. I was skinny then.
But personal stuff has seen me off the bike, and comfort eating, so I can kiss goodbye, for another year.
My hill, Copse Hill in Westdene....now that is a bitch.
nah, that easy ( South Road, Preston Village) - short walk from the petrol station to bridge..that hill is HORRIFIC
Albion Hill. That is almost vertical!
When I lived in Telscombe Village (a very long time ago), I used to do that regularly. I don't remember struggling. I guess I must have been fit in those days. These ones are not in Brighton.
Southease to Telscombe Village.

Preston Drove
The Brighton section of the Droveway. Of course, you would be breaking the law to cycle up it.
