Jeep, I was joshing about the deep heat. These things normally happen when I'm abroad. Asking for chalfont meds in Spain and France can be fun.
afcb, Sudocrem applied.

Sake, couldn't be a worse area could it? This heat has seen some pretty sweaty gonads of late.

Right then, I thought chafing was a myth but now I have a 2cm sore on the side of my left bollock. Christ, its like an effing paper cut. I'll dig the deep heat out.

I'm going to write something that has never been written before, and goes completely against the ethos of this thread:-

Moto, I think you're better off driving. :lolol:

I'm surprised I left this alone yesterday.

Aru toiling away behind the big boys.
While Astana teammate shoots up the road to win.
Putting himself into the top 10 and only 2 minutes behind his team 'leader'.

Who knew all of that was possible. :rave:

I'm loving this Vuelta - thank you so much for setting up the fantasy league for this tour as I am sure it is bringing so much joy to so many of us.

I too scratched my head when Astana man rode away from Froome and Nibali so easily yesterday. I wonder if Froome is wondering why he signed a 3 yr extension to his contract this summer when it looks like there are better and better riders coming through.

Ha this made me laugh (easily pleased)

I considered the fact that is is the result of a messy break up,
"I'm keeping the bike"
"I lent you £100 towards it, and you never paid me back"
"so"
"I'm having the forks".

T'is a shame it'll get a bit expensive once factoring in bearing, stem, bars & post all the other stuff I've probably not taken into consideration.

I'll bet the Tour of Britain organisers couldn't come up with a more boring set of stages if they tried. It's almost as though they did it for a bet in fact.

I don't think I'll be bothering watching much of it this year.

Now that was a stage and a half!

Absolutely brilliant stuff!

Had it all. Even the scenery delivered instead of the usual parched soul destroying ugliness that is most of this race.

With Angliru yet to come, Nibs, Zakarin, Superman, Bert and even Kelderman still looking good, this race is far from over. Loving it!

I've got my first ever 100k ride on Sunday... any hints or tips?

Eat, drink and be Mary!

You'll be fine, but keep taking on board drink and food, irrespective as to whether you think you 'need' it or not.
When you will 'need' it, that's the exact moment it's too late!, from then on you're playing catch up.

If you're going to be a novice to group riding it's fairly self explanatory, follow the leaders.
Be alert so you don't do anything sudden:-

- Point out potholes.
- Left arm behind back indicates parked car.
- CLEAR when a junction is clear.
- CAR BACK esp if we've encroached across the road.

Grab anything and everything that's free!
You should be able to fuel most of your winter with gels and bars.

Thanks for the advice!!

The ride I'm doing is this one:
http://www.ridestaffs.co.uk/event/lewis-partnership-stafford-sportive/

I've done a couple of 60k sportives before, but 100k seems like a landmark achievement. I'm just hoping the weather is half-decent!
https://www.strava.com/clubs/127202/group_events/193804

You've got some spiky climbing to do there, at least it's on front end with a 15 mile sprint finish, plenty of time to assemble your lead out train (after they've stopped at 56 miles! )
