Personally, and especially so after today's results, I never did care for anything in Argyle

If Moto comes round the corner looking like this:-

All I can say is, he'd better be going quick.

He better be quick, but at least he can stop as soon as the road goes uphill...

£25 for an Euskaltel/Euskadi jersey xxxl, bargain and probably a perfect fit.

:lolol: In which case he definitely won't be needing that polka dot jersey.

So today's Giro stage is a bit of a guess the breakaway riders who succeed type stage. There is no way that Sky will chase the break down if it is filled with smaller team riders. I literally have no idea who to go for.

My cunning plan was to cover stages one and two with sprinters and TTT'ers.
4 transfers for a 2 day 'classic' team.
Swapping back to sprint team for 2 days, then into mountains with 4 transfers.

That went out of the window at about 6pm Saturday

Likewise, I had planned to pretty much ignore the TTT and have 4 transfers for today. Then I panicked and used two before the TTT which probably landed me about 4 points!

Today is a lottery.

The break consists of Fabio Taborre (Vini Fantini-Selle Italia), Manuele Boaro (Team Saxo-Tinkoff), Willem Wauters (Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team), Jarlinson Pantano (Colombia), Bert De Backer (Team Argos-Shimano), Dirk Bellemakers (Lotto Belisol), and Jackson Rodriguez (Androni Giocattoli)

6 minute gap now. I've not got any of them. Enough big teams missing for it to get pulled back though

At least my panic netted 33 points, instead of the 7 I would have got had I left well alone.

I can't believe when I looked at my original team and thought 'how the hell did I end up with 2 from Argos', I didn't do anything about it.

I'm a bit puzzled here as to why Sky are driving the peloton. Ok they may not want to disrespect the race by not making some show of defending the leaders jersey, but surely they don't really want to be working so hard this early in the race and would be happy to see it gone today? If I'd known they'd ride like this I'd have put Puccio in yesterday instead of overloading on Garmin. Or maybe they're just really worried by this tricky descent to the finish and want to make sure no serious GC riders try to sneak off?

Oooh, we have some action! Garmin looking very lively.

Edit: Game on now so early in the race :) GC contenders having a little battle here.

I don't think it's anything new by Sky.

'we're going to ride for 3 weeks at x pace'
'If you can ride faster then well done'.

Yep, Skybourgs without a doubt. Seems a bit silly to me. Loving NSC's finest though with that little dig.

Edit: Thinking about it, Wiggins could be in Pink tonight. Was bad enough taking it on from stage 8.

It was an odd one, I guess he's saying 'I'll not be hiding this year'.

Why talk about Evans, he's done.

Yep, Paolini was tipped for this stage but personally I thought he wouldn't have enough so soon after the classics. Good shout for you then.
