While I'm here, I can't help but notice that I seem to be the only (fairly) regular contributor to this thread who has signed up for the REMF cycle from Selhurst to the Amex next September. It's a sticky thread at the top. I'm sure there must be more of you that want to be a part of this - come and join us!

Do I have a valid enough excuse?

You may be given a pass for this one. I'll expect a 'virual' cycle to be completed though.

Is this the reason you moved?

I would love to do the virtual bike ride, but as all my evening and weekends are taken up with rehearsals for an open air show at the moment I'm not going to have time to train. :( Beginning of March I will be starting my training for Le Race with a gym subscription to make the most of their Watt Bike and light weight training. Not to mention getting my commute bike up and running so I can ride to work every day.

Well as you asked so nicely...

Seriously though, if the L2B is too much - I have got a dodgy knee - I may need to reign in longer rides.

Junior is obviously a bit keener than my two 'older juniors' - and good for him. A brave decision to ride 50 miles with a nine year old, but I know what you mean about riding slowly - it would certainly test my patience!

But if he's not ready, he could meet us at the end - maybe cycle the last ten miles or something. Either way, I think this'll be fun!

It can be done.

I once set out on my bike as an overly keen 11 year old (sporting my new, shiny gatorade thermal top) at about 8am and once out decided I'd try and do 100 miles. I managed 90 but was pulled over by the police at about 4.30 when nearly home as my parents reported me missing!

I'll be giving this Fantasy Cycling malarky a crack this year, having failed to do so last time. I doubt I'll be in an early breakaway, and expect stupid questions about how it works that I should've read, but surely *knowing* what your doing isn't in the spirit of it....

Right - I'm in! I had a quick scan of the rules, skipped the scoring system and started off by picking the best track squad I could see. Let's just say I'm playing this by ear...

Picked 4 of them because they were expensive and in form, spent the rest on relatively poor riders to make the budget fit.
