I get the point about developing our own players, but in these forward positions I'm not sure we've got a ready made conveyor belt of strikers waiting to come through to seriously challenge Maupay and Connolly. Gyokeres possibly, but I'm not sure he's impressed so much on loan, that we're going to give him a squad number. If not then we'll have to get someone in for this position, and getting goalscoring strikers is far from easy.

The club may view it as pragmatic, to get in either an experienced striker to get us through the next year or two or a couple of season loans of promising young players.

In any case Liverpool might listen to offers for Brewster or Jones. I don't think it's too fanciful. They are both well down the striker pecking order there and will be for the foreseeable future.

klopp likes the way we play, surely if they was to loan any of the youngsters out then he would want them to play the same game as liverpool do rather than hooof ball

Loan offers, hopefully.

But they won’t be sold.

We're seeing more young players being willing to demand to play or they'll go somewhere they can, like Lamptey. This could bite us at some point with our young players. However you can't ignore that the young Liverpool forwards in question have no prospect of displacing Mane, Salah etc and getting regular first team football (apart from maybe the odd run around when they're 5 nil up)

Players like Foden, who are happy to have minimal game time until they're over 21 are now the exception
