Anyone McGhee wants as long as we get at least two players, it will have been a masterstroke. I don't believe McGhee would stay if he wasn't allowed to spend some of the money, so I'm optimistic that Currie's sale could be a blessing in disguise.

It should be spent on both of the above and more. This should all go to McGhee for players. He made the club this money. It's a bonus outside of any budgets, forecasts or projections.

It should be used to keep us in this division.

It may go on extending Clardige's contract?

Straight into keeping the club open for business if you don't mind.

I really feel like going up to Falmer this morning and kicking the SHIT out of that TWAT who would rather see a shopping centre on that land than a football stadium.

Then I'll burn his shitty excuse for a pub down.

f***ing stuck in the past, football club killing, selfish stinking *****.

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
The Arsenal youngster defintely, Quincy whats-his-face.
Preferabley paired-up with B.Zamora as well on-loan.
With one of these three, Leon Knight, Jake Robinson or Steve Claridge making up three at the front :drink:

Alive and Kicking fund for me please. We STILL have enough quality in this squad to stay up.

We now have the chance to play Virgo and Claridge up front with Knight on the wing! That's a formula that = GOALS!

Let's face it Currie was an excellent player and will be missed for his set pieces. BUT, we weren't winning games 2 or 3-0 were we. It's not like he was creating a hat-full.

I'm chuffed to bits that we have had this chance to wipe £250k off the A&K target! Couple that with the Spurs money and we're laughing all the way to the bank.

Imagine if we got past Spurs and drew another big club say Man Utd away! We could clear our debt completely!

In the last couple of years we have seen 1.5m for zamora, 500k for the playoffs and have had no major money spent on player investment. (who knows what the LK and NA deals were?). We have seen wage savings on Rodger, Blackwell and Piercey and the club are still in financial difficulties.

You are mad if you think 250k will persuade the board to bring in anything other than freebies wages and loaners. Shitty from a fans perspective but quite right in the current climate unfortunately.

OK, I agree it is good money for a player we signed on a free, who was over 30 and was out of contract in the summer. However Virgo and Claridge will not score goals without service, which Currie provided, Knight is not a winger, whatever some of you think.

Currie was creating chances, just there was no one to put them away. Lets say we get this mystery target man, fine, but what good is he without any service. Is a midfield of Oatway, Carpenter and Nicolas really going to provide that killer ball or inch perfect cross? I doubt it, they are workman like, but not flair players, we have nobody to come in and replace Currie.

What this sale reminds me of is when we sold John Byrne to Sunderland in 1991. He was the one really creative player in the squad and post him being sold, we went into free fall and oh what happened, we got relegated.

its going in the black hole to pay for falmer.

If you ask me that is a complete Joke!!!

we may well have falmer, but whats the point of having it and being in divison 4

This club is going down the pan and unless knight starts sorting something out there are going to be plenty of very pissed off loyal fans who want to know what the f*** is happening

get a hold of your self will you FFS

we will never be in the bottom division buy selling Currie the end goal is falmer and when we get it we will be in the championship as a force.

I want us to stay in this division like everyone else and currie would help this but the big picture is keeping the club in exsitence

Knight is not a russian oil baron so he cant keep subing the club.

its not the end of the world any way i heard that currie wanted to go to Ipswich (who could blame him 30 and needs to make some money for retirement) and MM had to let him go even thought he did not want to
