I dont understand Brighton fans sometimes, saying we shouldnt sign players from the past, but they are happy with a manager from the past.

They dont like Wilkins because we didnt get promoted and think Adams can sign better players than what Wilkins could attract. But so far the rumour has gone from:

Currie - player from the past, McGhee signing
Racon - player from the past, Wilkins signing
Westlake - player from the past, Wilkins signing
Richards - player from the past, Wilkins signing

All players who are good, but didnt get us promoted, Make your minds up??

Have to love the Argus. Earlier in the week they have an interview with Adams saying he is looking for pace on the wings. Now they are linking us with Currie, who never had any pace. Where is the logic?

Currie would still be a good signing for us. Up until February last season, he was the player with the most assists to goals in the football league. You can't hide the fact that when Currie stopped playing for Luton, they stopped scoring goals.

Despite his age, I still think we can get one decent season out of him.

Yup, I'd be happy to have Currie back. Pace was never part of his game, he lets the BALL do the work.

Ooh, I sounded a bit like a pundit there, didn't I ?

Agree with that. He can, as mentioned above, give us 100% for 60 mins then come off. Would be a good squad player and provide exactly the service we've been missing from the wings for our forwards (now that we have some forwards!).

If the manager signs him I'll go along with it no matter what reservations I might have....someone who can ping the ball through to Foster's feet or cross it onto Murray's head on a regular basis will lift us into the play-off places:)

Well, they printed what Adams said because Adams said it. And this article, well, Naylor/The Argus are far from perfect but they don't just make things like this up out of nowhere.

Sign him up!Good squad player
He would be worth playing in the home games purely for his delivery.
However,he would be no good for away games as he`s not much of a fighter, bit of a luxury player which is probably why Luton`s away form was crap.
Luton`s home form dipped too when Harford stopped picking him.

If Currie can put the ball on Murray's head once a game then I'm all for this move.

He is getting on though and will rely on the youngsters doing his running for him.

Totally agree and Murray/Forster will need someone to put the ball on his head/foot and even at his age he will undoubtedly come up with the odd goal and he is reliable his form for Luton in the last few months can be discounted as he disliked the situation there.

New story on the Argus site with some quotes from Currie.

He wants Luton to pay him before he signs for anyone else and say's there's a chance he could sign for us.

I'd be happy to have him. Dont see age as an issue because he's always been slow. His passing, crossing and set pieces will be a great asset.

Get him in... I can't think of anybody playing at our level who can deliver a ball into the box like him...
