Maybe abit early to say but from todays performance it looks as though we could be carrying another overweight, unfit, thirty-something who can't really be botherd...

Looks skillfull but was competly of the pace. The game was crying out for Hart or Lee. We had no attacking urge down the right flank and I think that cost us dear today.

Saying that, lets not get all depressed. We had several first teamers out, our midfield looked okay (esp with Oatway) and Molango and Jakey did us proud. Considering Reading have a good side, are expected to do well, we are away from home, and the injurys/suspensions I think a 3-2 defeat wasn't at all bad. Obviosuly would prefer a point but there you go.

Mayeb we shoulda had a penalty...maybe Cullip should have been sent off..what does it matter now eh?

he didnt really get into the game much. did give away the third goal really with poor control on the ball. his passing looks better than most, will need a couple more games to judge but he does look unfit.

Christ, he must have been bad to suggest David Lee??

I was at Weymouth and Lee played a blinder. Also seen him in training and he is good. Just needs first team games.

lee did look comfortable on the ball v southend but that is only one game v league 2 opposition, and weymouth is hardly reading. lee looks more like a central midfielder other than to be out on the right hand side of midfield.

I didnt say Weymouth was Reading. But how can you give any player a chance if you go by that way of thinking?

If he peforms well against the sides he plays against you cant ask more than that. He played better against Weymouth as most of the team did who played at both Weymouth and reading. He deserves a chance.

i know, but he hasnt impressed anywhere else, maybe mcghee will give him a runout against bristol rovers in the cup to see how he performs. how long does he have? 3 months? or a year?

He was also our best player against Stevenage. But unless he gets a chance before Leon comes back, there won't be a lot of point of extending his contract.

McGhee said Robinson was on the bench today because he's a forward and, in McGhee's opinion, Hart isn't. He said he didn't want to play people out of position.

By his own admission, Lee is a midfielder and not a forward. Whatever we think of the quality, we do have quite a few midfielders now and it'll be one more when Carpenter gets back.

How can you argue with MMs assessment. He is absolutely right.

Currie will gain fitness if he gets a few games under his belt. Yes, he did tap the ball weakly to the opposition player but it was on the edge of the Reading penalty box. Hardly fair to say he was responsible for the goal. I thought Dan Harding was more culpable for one of his naive pieces of play. He should have knocked it back to the keeper rather than take the guy on - it was a far safer move.

Didn't Currie supply the pass to Robinson for the second goal?

Currie was ok today I thought, looked to play some nice balls.

biscuit, you are the only person I have heard (or rather read) say Lee had a 'blinder' against Weymouth.

Give Currie a chance....he knows it's probably his last one!

That at least should see him give 100% when he plays.

David Lee was very good at Weymouth.

It's funny how Biscuit says give Lee a chance though he's having a go at Currie after one match.

Why not criticise Butters or Harding for gifting Reading 2 goals?
