Like a finely tuned vehicle, every great team is defined by it's engine. Without it, you have nothing but a shell.

This in mind, I've picked a player that is the very definition of a box to box midfielder with a work rate beyond peer. If you get in his way, he will go through you, he has the touch of an feather on the breeze and a shot of a high velocity rifle.

I would have to disagree, whilst Toure could strut into any squad on the planet Pirlo would, at best, be forced to shuffle (maybe whilst leaning on a younger man for support)....

Worth clearing up, is it based on how good the players are now? I thought that was it.

Yeah, how good they are now. Although longevity should taken in to consideration as should their recent form.

A player going through a purple patch shouldn't be considered on the same level as Messi, even though he's going through a rough patch (by his standards)
