It's time to pick my manager.

My plan to field Ryan Giggs as player manager was scuppered. It was a bit cheeky I know.

So, I need an experienced man. I need someone brave enough to stand up to anyone. Someone who bows his own mind. Someone who can't be bought - not even by Chelsea's millions.

This man has been to several finals covering the champions league, the UEFA cup, and even took South Korea to a 4th position at the World Cup. He can get the best out of any players.

He has won the title in Holland numerous times and has helped one team win the FA Cup.

He is... GUSS HIDDINK

Right, lets get this game moving.

Pick 11 for team GNLF is going to be a vastly experienced centre half. A man with multiple league titles and cups to his name and over 90 caps for his country. He's rock hard, rock steady and one of the mot skillful ball playing centre halves around. He is, of course:

Sergei Ignashevic

stripeyshark, you're up.

Now to sit in defensive midfield, I am drafting a player that has been at the core of PSG's success this season. He has also played for Barcelona, Internazionale, Italy and Brazil. The man's medal count is immense, here's what he has won:

Barcelona
UEFA Champions League: 2005–06
La Liga: 2004–05, 2005–06
Supercopa de España: 2005, 2006
UEFA Super Cup: Runner-up 2006
FIFA Club World Cup: Runner-up 2006
Internazionale
UEFA Champions League: 2009–10
FIFA Club World Cup: 2010
Serie A: 2009–10
Coppa Italia: 2009–10, 2010–11
Supercoppa Italiana: 2010; Runner-up 2009, 2011
UEFA Super Cup: Runner-up 2010
Paris Saint-Germain
Ligue 1: 2012–13, 2013–14
Trophée des champions: 2013
Coupe de la Ligue: 2013–14

Not bad really, and with 6 goals in 36 games this season he still has it. I present:
THIAGO MOTTA.

Guess what, everybody? I'm surprised my next pick is available! Nicknamed Forrest Gump by the Italian media (for his running, mainly; although I think he may also have sustained a buttock wound in Vietnam), he's won league titles with Grasshoppers in Switzerland and present club Juventus in Italy. Solid as a rock, and providing an attacking threat from right back, he is, of course...Stephan Lichtsteiner.

For my next pick, I'm going to pick the best young left back in the world. If he was English then Luke Shaw would be watching the World Cup down the pub.

Sadly for us, he was born in Switzerland to parents from Spain and Chile.

He's been linked with every big club in the world it seems, and the demand for him will be growing as he's set to make his World Cup debut in a couple of months at the age of 21.

It is Ricardo Rodríguez.

tomfitz12 is up for the last time(s)

there has been much discussion regarding this man but it seems no one actually went with him, for that reason I am putting ryan giggs as my manager into category 12

Category 1 - Has played at least 200 times for one club- Dida
Category 2 – Has made over 70 International appearances- Ronaldinho
Category 3 - Has never played at a World Cup- leighton baines
Category 4 - Plays/Manages outside the “top 5” leagues- tim cahill
Category 5 – Has been the top goal scorer in a top-flight season
Category 6 – Played football in at least 4 different countries
Category 7 – Has been relegated during his career- loic remy
Category 8 – Has played in a Champions League Semi-Final/Final.- Frank Lampard
Category 9 – Is under 24 years of age- ikay gundogan
Category 10 - Has won a league title with 2 different clubs- Kolo Toure
Category 11 – Is over 30 years old- Franck Ribery
Category 12 - Has faced Brighton at some point in his career- Ryan Giggs

He's been picked already, someone was discussing moving him to a managerial position. Sorry pal.
