I think it is just one of those things. The actual act of scoring is quite random. Look at welbz vs Roma. Missed two very good headed chances away and all he had to do with a header chance yesterday was touch it to deflect around goalie but missed the ball. But then banged one top corner and finished a far far harder chance at palace.

Arsenal went on a run abound Christmas time where they simply couldn’t score. The night we beat spurs they lost 2-0 at home to West Ham. They had thirty shots. In the cup they battered Liverpool but simply couldn’t score. The media were trying to figure what was going wrong. Then they suddenly just started scoring for no apparent reason. Not making better chances - just scoring. They had 20 shots with 5 big chances vs Liverpool but missed all of them. Lost 0-2. Vs palace they had 21 shots. 6 big chances. Won 5-0. At home to West Ham they had 5 big chances missed all of them lost 0-2. With fewer shots but one more big chance they won 6-0 away.

I fully expect us to do the same.

A discussion focused on the number of chances created, and missed, for headed goals. And nobody's mentioned Hinshelwood? I'd add that to Mitoma, March and Pedro. Plus Ferguson out of form. All adds up to 'no mystery why we aren't scoring as many as we did at the start of the season'.
I'd say.
Agree that the loss of Hinshelwood isn't being spoken about enough. Not on the level of Mitoma, Pedro et al. but brings a real dynamism to the team

Welbeck is great but he’s never been a poacher type who will stick them in for fun. Evan could do that but he’s lost his mojo. Our most instinctive finisher is Pedro but he’s in the treatment room.

This is surprising!

Suprising - yes and no.

We are just a bit lacklustre in front of goal and make it easy for keepers a lot of the time. That Burnley home game was a classic example. Trafford has had one half decent game all season and it was that one. But even then, they were all efforts you would expect a PL keeper to make.

The Sheff Utd and Fulham home games were similar.

Amd Burnley away to be fair. A number of our shots were either side footed with little venom or were straight at the keeper.
