Curbishley Wilkens combo would be superb! All depends on how much influence Tony Bloom had in the original sacking of Wilkins. It would also re-establish the connect between the youth feeder network and the first tems, after all we haven't seen anyone come through the ranks for a season and a bit now have we?

I think you'll find the TB loaded the gun and DK pulled the trigger, only perry was against it.

Can I point out one fundamental flaw in this potential partnership?

Curbishley and Wilkins don't get on with each other. At least, they didn't three years ago.

Then again, who knows what it's like now?

I'll even name my source on that one - Dean Wilkins.

Your kiddin' me ...

Firstly thats not true and secondly Wilkins isnt the sort of personality to offer up an insulting view of any of his past colleagues, to, with respect a random fan.

They were neighbours for a time and happen to get on just fine.

I understand he was sacked as he had lost the confidence of the "senior players" so return very unlikely

I reckon he had promised the players something the boardroom weren't prepared to back up. Just a guess, as I don't have any inside source - that was all kept under wraps rather efficiently.

Maybe he thought by the season's end, that it was all over and forgotten, but the board had already made up their mind.

I believe he wasn't so great politically, and put himself between a rock and a hard place. A simple mistake to make, but desperately difficult to get out from.... without collecting his cards.

It's guaranteed-anytime Wilkins is mentioned out trot Pinky and her Partner with their usual ramblings. Clearly 2 people unable to move on.

Yep, you're right. If only you'd interjected during this conversation, and told Wilkins he was lying, it would saved all this speculation.

Feel free to enlighten me.....

When did you have this informal chat and how and why did you feel it relevant to say 'erm how do you and Curb's get on' ?

Bet it didnt go that way and in the context you have offered.

Thats all, but the floors yours.

You see, with your views you have to move on, dont you ?

You are again and again proved wrong and undeterred you move on, its simple and well practised from you.

No doubt you quickly moved on from Wilkins getting the sack and then celebrated Adams appointment, only to quickly move on from his disastrous tenure, to celebrate Slades appointment and no doubt you have moved on to celebrate the next appointment.

You see you just happen to be so bloody good at it !!!!

Is it going to be worth telling?

I mean, your track record for 'I think it's true therefore that is the truth' is a little tiresome. I could tell you, but I'm not convinced you would believe me, simply because I suspect you've already made your mind up what you think the truth is.

So, is it worth it?

Yeah, go on.

Lets hear it.

You have already broken the likely confidence in this conversation anyway.

Go on fill yer boots.

Well, if you think a confidence has been broken, I'll stop there from making more of it public.

I'll PM you.

Edit: Interesting. You appear not to be accepting PMs.

Sorry but not really into pm's, actually didnt know that I was or was not accepting these, so nothing sinister about it.

As it happens I don't think you made it up, however knowing that they are decent mates, I think the interpretation of your chat came to the wrong conclusion.

It just wouldn't of been a 'I dont like Curbishley' kinda conversation, no way.

It was in at a meeting in 2006. There were three of us discussing the Forty Notes Fund.

We were yakking for an hour or so, and talking about what Wilkins would like the money to have been spent on. The other fella in the meeting used to work for The Who, and therefore knew Alan Curbishley's brother Bill very well, and by the same stretch, knew Alan. The topic of Dean talking to Curbs about loan players cropped up (I think the latter was at West Ham at the time - could be wrong), and Dean dropped in that relations between them weren't particularly healthy (I'm paraphrasing - I don't recall the exact words).

That was Wilkins' side of it. The other fella at the meeting later gave his version of Curb's view (albeit for me, it was second-hand and open to more interpretation), and it seemed no more charitable.

Of course, this was over three years ago, and they may kissed and made up, it may have been a temporary spat, or it may have been nothing in the first place. You seem to know Dean Wilkins very well enough to say that him and Curbs are best friends, so who knows what's happened in between times?

All I'm saying is, back then, according to Wilkins, it didn't appear to be so good.

Fair enough, thanks.
