Me and Mrs BT are looking to relocate to London from Dorset. Crystal Palace looks to have a villagey atmoshere and is fairly good value for money, but I just can't bring myself to consider it as an option given the historic links to the football club; even though it has been based in Selhurst for many a year. Am I being irrational, or is the possible prospect of them returning to Crystal Palace too big a risk to take!?

dorset to london? are you mad?

Trust me it's not all it's cracked up to be....plus I've spent the last 3 years commuting to Greenwich I can't deal with it anymore. We'd like to move to Teddington or Richmond but there aren't many decent places within our budget.

if your budget stretches to consider Richmond, check Sutton, or for villagy feel, Carshalton.

I hope you're joking . I grew up in dulwich just down the road and crystal palace is pretty rough . It has improved a lot but it certainly isn't like a village .

We've spent this year trying to move to Dorset, sadly to no avail.
Although the plus side is we are now proud owners of Falmer season tickets.

I was brought up around St Paul's Cray and St Mary's Cray - don't know how much it's changed but might be worth a look and would have thought the prices were comparable
