When I had a pub in Guildford I was involved in attempts to revive Guidford city and Slippery Sam tried to get a stadium at The Spectrum and form a team Wimbledon & Guildford City. Due to the money in the Guildford City kitty being 'otherwise allocated' by Godalming Towns Chairlady (who reads the Combined Counties scores on Radio Sussex) and her partner, the plan never reached fruition.

I'd only be happy with that if it were to keep us surviving as a football team. To save Palace? Nah

Why would we merge?
We have a new stadium round the corner and a Manager who is slowly establishing professionalism into our club on the football side to push us up the leagues.
We have a community project in Albion in the Community that is second to none winning national awards for it's great efforts.
A chairman who addores the club and made £93M available to complete the stadium meaning that the club can use its own resources elsewhere. He is also an astute businessman looking to progress us into a moneyspinner.
We have a fanbase that Man Utd would die for, the only professional football club in Sussex which is the richest county in the country for £'s per person.
The only questionable thing is the size of the stadium as in 10 years if we progress as Bloom intends us to and we are playing premiership football we will need a stadium much much bigger.
What can a merger with palace add to our club?
we wouldn't use Selhurst Park with Falmer nearly here so Palace fans would have to travel to us, And I can remember how that went down with Wimbledon fans when they moved their stadium.
Also Palace are struggling financially so a merger would cost us to wipeout their debts and problems.
The only thing that palace have that we may benefit from is a few good players but they will be sold soon and then its a downhill spiral for them.
There's no advantage to BHAFC to merge with palace, we may help you how we helped Stockport by taking a few players off your wage bill but no thanks we will gain success ourselves with a decent chairman who builds for the long term and doesn't destroy our club like so many around at the moment.
