In a proper cryptic crossword clue, the synonym for the answer is either at the beginning or the end - rather than just word play.

So if it is 'Portsmouth Twats' (should it be '10, 5'...?), the clue should read 'Dickheads who are left down to sea...'.

Sorry everyone that's me being stupid it is indeed Portsmouth Twats. .(10,5 stupid me)

Left is PORT
River to sea - river MOUTH
Down river can mean shit - like Portsmouth, also Portsmouth despite giving it large were not promoted last season, they were "left down"
Skin emblems , tattoos, TATS.
Sunset point is West W. So TWATS.
Also Portsmouth is a bit full of racists (skins) and people with bad tattoos.

In a proper cryptic crossword clue, the synonym for the answer is either at the beginning or the end - rather than just word play.

So if it is 'Portsmouth Twats' (should it be '10, 5'...?), the clue should read 'Dickheads who are left down to sea...'.

Including a synonym somewhere is classic though not essential. I think there are enough layers of meaning in there to allow this in this instance. Though you're right I can't count.
