You f***ing clown.

It's a great feeling when you clear an area of vermin cats and see the native wild life come back in decent numbers.

You're a soft as f*** pussy yourself the way you react to cats getting tapped.
People often ask about NSC's rules and, many times, they come down to "don't be a dick".

However, every now and again someone produces a post that absolutely classically defines abuse and trolling. This is one such example and, therefore, our resident Aussie will be having a break from NSC.

Spoken like someone who is a couch expert.

How do you catch all these feral cats to neuter them?

They don't stop killing when you remove their knackers I'm afraid.
A friend does exactly that. It prevents them breeding which is a big help in reducing the number of ferals. We don't have a huge problem in Britain with feral cats.
Btw, I'm sure you realise that female cats don't have balls, but are also spayed.

So that absolves their 'owners' from all responsibility then does it?

Almost literally...Ah, feck it, give the cat another goldfish!

Nice get out for dog owners too. They can just say...'Well a dog can be trained but mine isn't. Shitting everywhere and killing other animals is just what they do.'
Cats are protected by law and are free to roam.

If anyone who has a cat living in their home thinks they own them they are delusional. A cat will do as it pleases.

Though I manged to persuade mine to support Brighton (or purrrrrsuade)

He's not offended me. He's done something that is unacceptable on NSC and has been banned after I had a quick consultation with a couple of other mods.

Frankly I find the cat killing freak a pitiful bully, perhaps the same way the majority of football fans think of Kurt Zouma.

Well it was you English who f***ed the continent up in the first place.

Rabbits, Foxes, Cats, Carp.

Now we're trying to clean up your mess.

So no irony here.
OMG....hope you're not planning on visiting the AMEX to watch the Seagulls anytime soon. We all have our unfettered moments on the internet when we should have been a bit better behaved, but now you're attacking the people who started this forum, the football club you claim to support.....and dare I say it, Australia itself!

Yes I know there were Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders here for 60,000 years beforehand, but luckily for our Indigenous friends the British got here before the Ottomans or the Spanish or any of the other powers of centuries ago, who weren't quite as civilized and tolerant.

..and "we" are not trying to clean up anyone's mess. Speak for yourself.

Why you would even bother coming back to NSC now you've alienated just about everyone?

It is strange in this country how the term 'responsible dog owner' is common place, but no such term exists for cat owners.
Cats can just be let out and do what they like, which is usually shit in other people's gardens and kill wildlife. It's a bizarre situation as, if a dog done either of those things then the owner would likely be in trouble.

So that absolves their 'owners' from all responsibility then does it?

The reasons why cats are allowed to roam free, and why dogs aren't, are fairly simple:

1. dogs are bred to be obedient (also known as thick) and will generally struggle to cope on their own
2. in case they are not obedient, they could - unlike cats - be dangerous to humans

This is why dog owners are required to be responsible. A cat can't bite the face off some kid or intimidate them through stealing their football or whatever. They prefer not to interact with humans. A bad cat will shit and piss inside, a bad dog can kill you. The difference is quite substantial.

I also don't think people who have cats really see it as "owning cats" in the same way as you "own a dog". There is a clear hierarchy between man and dog and thats the kind of company some people want. Without you, the dog will be unhappy, not be able to get exercise. You get to be a hero for most of the day - Fido needs you. Some people like that. Other people prefer more independent, less needy company.

Yes, cats kill a lot. They've lived by our sides for 10 000 years and while their introduction has been catastrophic (pun unintended but turned out great) for biodiversity in some areas, they've obviously not caused substantial environmental imbalance because then we'd be f***ed thousands of years ago. It is first now when human actions and inventions are killing off the environment that we're suddenly thinking... "lets blame the cat".

As for shitting in your backyard, your backyard is supposed to be shat in. Also anything growing in your backyard isn't truly yours. Your flowers, trees and organisms are living organisms that would be thrilled not having you around, whereas you'd die if there was no grass or flowers. In essence you have no more right to enjoy these things compared to a cat or a snail or a hedgehog or whatever.

And best to keep the Dreamies in a tin 😂

That's the other weird thing about cats and their 'owners'. Many seem comfortable with having a cat up on a kitchen worktop where food is prepared. Or having a litter tray in the kitchen.

My cats get shouted at if they jump up on the worktops, and have, as much as cats learn anything, not to do it anymore. It is mutual understanding. I also have cleansing products to clean the worktop before food is prepared.

Good post. I always enjoy your reasoning. Not a lot to disagree with there.
I'm still not going to lose sleep though over some nutter going round shaving cats when there's literally millions of animals systematically killed for human indulgence on a daily basis, with large chunks of specism, not to mention anthropomorphism, going on too.

I don't see it as a problem.

Our cat gets pissy with us because we load it's collar with a number of noisy things, until it works out how to lose it, then we have to get her another one.

People who don't like cats, probably don't realise what the benifits of having them. I got this off the internet, but it is true

Cat's Lower stress and anxiety. Cat owners know how one session of petting or playing with their cat can turn a bad day into a good one. Scientific evidence also shows that a cat's purr can calm your nervous system and lower your blood pressure.

This isn't a reaction to your comments, only that has been mentions before.
Cats will go anywhere they please, whether you keep an eye on or not.
Mrs AR is an ex head chef, so hygiene in kitchen is second to none, and the smell of herbs and spices is enough deterrent to keep moggy off work surfaces
As to the cat loo, no soon as ours as done his pees and poo, a change of litter is imminent
