If I recall right, Crown Court was set in the fictional town of Fulchester. Fulchester was later used as the setting for stories in Viz comic.
Lucy Solomon from Peacehaven.
That's right,I was friends with one of her sons,Joe at school
I was with him all the way from nursery club at at age 2, through to secondary school!!
Last I heard he emigrated to Perth WA
And made a lot of money in the scaffolding business
Had an elder brother,Chris
That’s good to hear. I had this horrible feeling that he was one of the Tideway lads who succumbed to heroin. Pleased that’s wrong.
Some others made their way to WA too eg Dean and Scott Fresher.
Yeah,I knew Scott at school
Dean was a fairly good rugby player as I remember
Dean played rugby to high level in Oz. He was an all sporting star at school, no doubt Mr Davies was proud.
Scott was older than me, a sometimes mischievous character. I always got on very well with him, including on a school Welsh Camp to Lake Llangorse.
I used to catch the end of it while I was waiting for Mr Ben, Bod or Bagpuss - Incredibly boring for a 5 yr old!
Yeah,Scott was part of the C block lot
I went on Welsh Camp too, happy days
Used to stay at Taff's house a lot,Gwilym was one of my best mates
Hi Harry how's tricks?
Time to go back even further, and another 'do you remember' moment.
Some when, it may well have been around 1974ish, a TV company put on an afternoon film that featured a garage, might have been in France, with a family driving up and generally buying stuff. Must have been about half an hour long and I'm guessing again that it was a colour test film. It was on every day.
About that time I was working for Southern Rentals (Burgess Hill) and recall it on the TV's.
I can't remember that, but BBC2 in the late 60's and early 70's on weekday afternoons often played this 'groovy' short film.
As an infant living in the simple world of Sussex, I was mesmised by the futuristic monorail etc.
I loved doing it. Had a couple of really interesting cases. All feels like a bit of a game at the time, until you have to stand up and give the verdict....all becomes very real then (defence barrister asked for bail, Judge looks at him sternly and says ‘I beg your pardon ? Your client has just been convicted of xxxxx and poses a clear danger to the public. Absolutely not’)
The CPS barrister in the first case I did was absolutely brilliant. He utterly dismantled the defendant piece by piece over 4 days, it was brutal to watch, but very clever.

All the films shown were made by BP hence there is a lot of shots of the BP logo. Pure advertising on the BBC.
