Reports say it is still a lager pub. If you like proper beers and ciders, try elsewhere. Consult.

Yet another case of total bollocks Perseus.

Still you never let us down.

So what beers have they got on? Do they sell proper cider?

Everybody to their own taste. How much is pint of bitter?

Might be OK. I am open-minded. Gotta be better than it was. Garden overlooks the river, but they have built an enclosed conservancy several years ago and now there is not much garden left.

Music ???

Might be worth having a pubs forum with useful information, music, beers, cider, prices, pub games (bar billards, pool), TV football, late night closing, what football supporters use the pub? etc.

What do you consider to be proper cider?

Apples fermented with water. In a keg, usually plastic nowadays, although it used to come out of the wood. A lots of the "real" ciders are a bit crappy, refined or fortified sometimes or really apple wines. Usually taste sour.

Thatchers is good. Old Rosie is OK. A few others. Black Rat. Sort of average 6% alcohol. The strong stuff is not so good.
Battle can do a good cider, but some of them are naff now. Bulmer and Coates used to do proper ciders, but I have not seen them for a long while.

There are some not "real" ciders that are drinkable as well. Can't remember their names offhand. Not keg ciders.

I am not a purist. Just gotta taste OK. I don't like fizzy drinks.

C & A have never sold a decent cider.
