Tunnel - there are a few ways of getting cheaper options, one of which is the day return for about £40. Times vary but have used that before.

Go with LDTransmanche Ferries Newhaven- Dieppe or Newhaven- Le Havre from 1st May. You can book some smashing deals! Brand new state of the art ROPAX ferries. Also check for two singles. It can be cheaper.
