The reason he played
"I think the lads who played in midfield tonight I wouldn't fault as they gave as good as they could, but unfortunately against a well-drilled side this wasn't good enough.
"It's a case of getting the continuity and getting these midfield lads that we think are very promising - [Jack] Collison, Ledley, Ramsey, Edwards - getting them together more often and I think we will be OK."
Toshack said the loss of those midfielders also contributed to the lack of chances created because he said they would have pushed up more behind the strikers.

Seeing as allot of people on this site are obsessed with attendances I'm surprised no one has mentioned that the Welsh only managed to attract 8k last night.

And also how poor the crowd was at the U21 game. Doesn't really support the cause that international games should be played around the country does it.

The U21s game was terrible scheduling. Who is going to go to a U21 game on the same day as the full team are playing a friendly on terrestial TV?
