I don't think they were dolphins, think they were porpoise.

Sarah Ward, a marine biologist at the Sussex Wildlife Trust, identified them as dolphins.

Probably Common Dolphins, which look nothing like bottle nose Dolphins, and people think they are Porpoises.
Down here in Devon we had a Humpback Whale, just off the beach at Start Point last week.
Also lots of dead Dolphins washed up as well this year.
