A lot of their cocky fans took great pleasure in knocking us out of the Euro's, to an amost obsessional point in some cases. The smug bastards aren't laughing now :bigwave:

I'm also a bit disappointed Sweden didn't make it through, not for their football but their female fans make quality viewing

Sure you mean Japan? I'd say South Korea personally

Just my opinion based on 2 World Cups - I went to Japan vs Argentina in Toulouse and Japan vs Brazil in Dortmund. In both cases despite being on the other side of the globe they turned up in BIG numbers, almost all were replica-shirted up AND their team's not even that good. They pay CRAZY money for Black Market tickets too. They have my respect.

Germany was MENTAL for Black Market ticket prices. When we all met for ales in Cologne, England Sweden tickets were going for €900 each (about £700 at the time).

Then me and my mate went up to Gelsenkirchen for Portugal v Mexico the following day, and f*** me if about 30,000 ticketless Mexicans weren't having to pay similar amounts for that one.

Even Switzerland v Togo was a complete sell out and tickets were going at twice the face value. As I say, it was mental if you didn't have a ticket.

Ill never forget that interview with Slavan Billic after the wembley defeat 2 years ago, when he clamed that Croatia are "simply a better team" than us. Yeah ok slav!:bigwave:

My respect for all things Germanic went up enormously after that World Cup. They did it properly in every respect for the fans. And the Bierkellers helped, clearly. I hope we'd do it as well and make everyone as welcome if we get it.

Well they did beat us home and away, so I'd say he had more than a point.

Expect Bilic in the Premiership sometime soon...

Littlehampton,Wick actually
.

I've got no beef with Croatia. Great country, play great football, produced an amazing amount of talent for such a small place. Sure, they knocked us out but we deserved it and I don't think they milked it that much. And let's face it, but for them that idiot McClaren might still be in charge today *shudders* I'm sorry they won't be there. Ukraine will add nothing if they make it

Tell me if the country is so great etc,why they f*** have they all come over here then.

The country is great, as you'd know if you'd been there. And they aren't all over here. I doubt if Croatian is in the top 20 of immigrants by nationality. Otherwise, good points, well made.
