I say poor form because, taking into account the Maupay incident, it's hypocritical.

Firstly, i doubt the pitch was any different to most of the other times when we play on it. As for it being a friendly, I don't want to go and watch walking non contact football. I want the players to play as much as they can as if it were a competitive match, otherwise, what's the point.

I feel Sanchez should be our no 1 in a year or twos time so this shouldnt be seen as a trajedy but feel bad for Walton.

I have very high hopes for Sanchez, he looks to be a long term solution to the sort of goalkeeper we would need for Potterball

You may want to, (and I agree) but that’s not the point, most players take it easier, which is why I feel Giroud was a little bit naughty.

Pitch wise, quite a few players were slipping more than normal I would suggest. The fact Walton also slipped on landing, means it played a part.

Yes but it happens to the best, that is why you need game time to learn.

One was a friendly and one a league game, normally players hold back. That said, the pitch also played a part.

I don’t really see it as poor form from our fans as Giroud didn’t need to do it, though it wasn’t a malicious act as such.

Maupay didnt need to do it either, I dont see the difference. Players nudge each other all the time in the air, goalkeepers do it too. Outfield players arch their backs and back into each other that cause bad landings. It is unfortunate when someone gets injuired but it is part of a contact sport.

With the Blues chasing the game in the final moments Ederson tried to get a last-gasp attack started but his throw went straight to McTominay who blasted into an empty net from 40 yards.

Maupay could see he was close to the edge of the area, a nudge to seek an advantage, why wouldn’t you?

Competitive vs non-competitive situation.

IMHO it was NOT the same. Completely different with Walton in the air and ball in hands. Giroud had no reason to nudge him.

Maupay was going for ball, Giroud had already lost it.

Maupay bumped him after he caught the ball. Same deal. It’s standard and it’s designed to make the keeper drop the ball.

Ryan is class, and I noticed that too but, to reinforce the point, he also gave Robert Sanchez a quick warm-up before coming on.
