The analysis on Ch4 was marvellous, although I only liked Richie Benaud as a commentator on there. (Geoffrey Boycott pissed me right off )

This is a disgrace and unbelievable short term thinking. The reasons offered just don't add up in the long term. The basic arguement is that the SKY money will help because of the investment in the counties, academies, England teams (ins A squad) etc blah blah

What they simply fail to realise is that you exclude a large proportion of the population who do not have SKY. Therefore if we consider that a decreased amount of young kids will gain an interest in cricket through exposure to it, they won't have any kids wanting to attend cricket academies or attend county matches.

The ECB themselves were split on the decision and on the 5Live Drive this evening some chap from Durham (Clive Leach-Chairman?) tried to defend the decision and just came across as some bumbling gin swilling fool who did everything but answer the basic question put to him. The 5Live interviewer was exasperated and hung up the conversation in despair.
