Is true. Perhaps the £13m mark and £45k a week in wages, simply doesn't get the players who can control the ball and midfield in the PL (unless you get lucky).

This is basically what it boils down to.

Our £15m signings are ok and in the right setup will avoid relegation most seasons. We have to accept that's where we're at, and probably always will be our level at best.

Having said Shelvey is a non goer who does anybody suggest as a possible in this country as obviously we do not know about players abroad much and who is doing what Whoever it is needs to be able to walk straight in to the side. What about Danny Drinkwater at Chelsea on loan as he cant make their squad and the other slight possibility Rueben Loftus- Cheek does.so he is out of the reckoning.

If, whilst unlikely, the Mags failed to stay up I wouldn't be against it !

Sidwell retired
Barry 36 years old could he still do a job if we brought him home
Will Hughes would be ideal but unlikely as he plays regularly for Watford

The search must go on.

Note I said “in the mould of”

Need a midfielder that doesn’t get knocked off ball easily, all the creativity in the world is no good if you lose every 50/50 or even 60/40 and lose possession immediately.

2 things wrong there

1. Not good enough
2. Not an Attacking Midfielder more defensive.

What a negatve post, Dicker could be the answer for half a season at least.

Another option, Ryan Harley. He could be the creative fulcrum, in a CM three with Stephens and Kayal as sitters.
